When approached by new clients we are often asked whether we can do anything to improve the look of an old tired ceiling, fluorescents glowing six feet apart. In other instances, a client may have taken over an old high ceiling (or no ceiling) warehouse where they want to make the most of those extra cubic feet of space using mezzanine floors, while maintaining standard ceiling height throughout the office or retail complex. Suspended ceiling installations are cheaper to fit than plasterboard ceilings, and provide a myriad of different options compared to plasterboard. They are quick and easy to install, can be easily altered for new office configurations, and quickly dismantled when required. Suspended ceilings are also the ideal way of hiding unsightly air-con ducting, water pipes and electrical conduits, while maintaining easy access should they need to be serviced. A properly installed suspended ceiling using thermal insulation tiles can help significantly reduce office heating costs, while acoustic tiles can significantly dampen machine noise from manufacturing areas, reflect light more easily, and are fire retarded to comply with all relevant building legislation.
